A huge hit for England Dan (Dan Seals) and John Ford Coley in 1976, Seals re-recorded the song as a stripped down, mostly acoustic version on his 1995 album, In a Quiet Room. I love the album and really love the acoustic version of this song. It's such a lovely piece to play on the acoustic guitar. As with all my videos, I don't think my performance is anything special, but, hopefully, might provide insight for anyone who wishes to learn how to play the song.

This is my favorite Zac Brown song. His recording features a lot of piano in the track, so the challenge was to come up with a full-sounding acoustic guitar arrangement that does the song justice. You can judge if I succeeded.

In all fairness, I had a lot of help figuring this song out. Bobby Crispy has an excellent tutorial on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ININfBaaXh4 There are a lot of versions of this song on the Internet, and his was the best I found for capturing the nuances of the song. There's not much I can add to what Bobby has already done, so why would I go to the bother? There are few things Bobby doesn’t cover, and if I ever forget how to play this song, I want to be able to show myself how I “used to do it”. Don’t laugh. Because of Covid, I haven’t played a gig since March 2020. If you don’t use it, you lose it.

This song was a big hit for Billy Dean in 1994. I have always loved it. Any time I start to learn a song, I try to find a live acoustic version online to study. It’s always easier to hear the guitar part if the guitar is the only instrument, of course. This song was adapted from a live performance I found on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNTzDtazKx0. No band, just Billy. If you are going to learn this song, I think you'll find this lesson true to that live performance. I have provided left hand fingering as part of the video. Let me know what you think.

Pink and Justin Derrico (guitar) do this awesome live version of Cindy Lauper's Time After Time. The guitar part is hard to figure out if you don't now how the guitar is tuned. I have not found an accurate cover or lesson on the Internet that incorporates the alternate tuning, so we'll do that here. By the way, I can't sing this song.
